Question: Are sodium and / or potassium hydroxide, which are used in natural soaps, hazardous and can they harm the user?
Answer: Indeed these substances are hazardous in nature. In order to make natural soaps from oils you must decompose the oils into soaps in a process called saponification. These are the materials used for this process. During the process they react and no longer exist in the final product. It is the responsibility of a professional manufacturer to make sure that after the process of saponification there will remain excess oil in the soap, in order to insure the sodium and / or potassium hydroxide react completely, creating soaps that are gentle and do not dry the skin.

Question: Why are sodium and / or potassium hydroxide, which are considered hazardous substances, listed in your soaps ingredients and not in most of the other natural soaps?
Answer: It is a pity but you cannot make natural soaps from oils without a strong base (potassium or sodium hydroxide). When soap is made in a professional way the oils are saponified by the base and only soap, water and oil are left. Natural soap is sold in various places and the list of ingredients does not always list these materials. Perhaps they are non-natural soaps or perhaps their manufacturers prefer to avoid listing these substances, which must be used to make natural soaps, and prefer writing the ingredients differently.

Question: What is the shelf life of natural products without preservatives?
Answer: Products without preservatives have a shorter shelf life than products with preservatives. All our products in the Lavender line have a shelf life of one year (6 months from opening),and, from our experience, they keep much longer thanks to our special formulas. Anyway, to be cautious, we manufacture our products in small series, according to consumption, to ensure the customer will get a fresh product (usually a few weeks from production). This is also the main reason the sale is made directly to customers or through quality resellers so that we fully control the products shelf life and promise our customers quality use.

Question: What is the difference between Lavender products and those of dozens of manufacturers selling natural cosmetics?

Answer: All the products in the Lavender series are exclusively manufactured by us, in order to ensure quality. Unlike most products that are similar to each other and are generally manufactured in the same factory with different labels. The great variety of lavender products are manufactured from 100% natural materials, based on the highest quality and concentrations in the market for example:
• Our unique liquid soaps, shampoo, and solid soaps are manufactured from extra virgin olive oil which is over 70% of the fat comprising the soaps.
• Our therapeutic creams series based on Shea Butter consists of more than 40% Shea Butter, unlike most creams on the market, which are just "enriched‘ with Shea Butter in low concentrations (creams which use Shea Butter)
• All our products contain no preservatives and we invest heavily in the production process to avoid using these materials as well as direct marketing and manufacturing of small series to ensure a quick arrival for consumer use.
• We Choose oils and essential oils in our products to be as gentle and anti-allergic as possible, appropriate for the product, and pleasantly scented.
• When we use the word "natural" it is not for decoration but rather a concept we live by, so ingredients are not printed small and impossible to read with complicated names, but simply as possible.

Question: Why, relative to similar products, is your list of ingredients short?
Answer: We believe the best products are also the simplest and therefore try very hard to make our products the simplest and with the smallest number of components we need. Like in cooking: the simplest recipe gets the best results.

Question: Are Lavender products environmentally friendly ?
Answer: The protection for the environment and of people is above all and is the basis for the Lavender line. Some examples include:
• All products are easily biodegradable and do not contain crude oil ingredients
• Some of our solid soaps are manufactured from "Bottom of the Barrel Oil"(virgin olive oil) often spilled to the ground, causing land pollution. In a special process, we make unique and high-quality soaps from them.
• We give the option of a refill whenever possible, to reduce our environmental impact. Fortunately many customers use this option.
• We do not add salt to soaps that we manufacture (In liquid soaps, salt is used to raise viscosity) which add to land salification and we also do not use boric acid
• In all our products we avoid the use of palm oil because it is extracted by cutting trees.
